Hiking

The Gillan Creek runs parallel to the Helford River and flows into the sea on the southern side of Dennis Head. There used to be a ferry across the harbour, you can still get a lift across but it's less formal. The South West Coast Path walks around the creek rather than crossing.

Gillan Creek has long been a place of human settlement. Signs of an oyster bed dating back to medieval times has even been found in the mud.
