Lying to the east of Glen Coe and Glen Etive and just west of the phenomenally remote Rannoch Moor, hiking up Creise places you in a spectacular landscape and makes for a thoroughly enjoyable Munro adventure.

This peak rises in the middle of its north to south running ridgeline with two further tops, one at each end. Sitting amidst such splendour, you can begin from the Glencoe Mountain Resort which provides parking and a cafe or, if you’d rather stay away from human incursions on the landscape, approach from Glen Etive instead, involving an exciting scramble.

A mixture of grassy slopes and rocky ridges, hiking to Creise is Scottish Highlands to the core. From the summit, the true wilderness of Rannoch Moor can be seen behind the dramatic shape of Meall a'Bhuiridh. North and south, Creise’s fine ridgeline continues to Stob a’ Ghlais Coire and Clach Leathad, once thought to be the true summit. West, the Glen Etive peaks are tremendous. North-north-west, incredible Buachaille Etive Mor dominates the view.

Experienced mountaineers with appropriate equipment can hike throughout winter with the summer months bringing long days and the chance of full day adventures. Find accommodation at the mountain resort as well as in Glencoe and along the valley.

    Hiking

A magnificent and rocky peak nearby the Glencoe ski area, with a summit height of 1,100 metres,

There are a number of different routes winding their way up the rocky flanks, making it a popular summit for summer and winter mountaineers. Its proximity to the White Corries makes it a pretty big hit with skiers, too.

    Mountaineering

Despite the bad weather a nice tour. It's worth the right equipment.
