The Oban war memorial stands at the end of the Corran Esplanade and, with its location on the coast, makes a very nice Kulissa. It was unveiled on November 11, 1923. It comes from the hands of the Edinburgh company Richardson & Mackay and the sculptor Alexander Carrick.

Hiking
The Oban War Memorial is also know as the Oban Cenotaph. It shows two Highlanders carrying a wounded comrade and commemorates the fallen soldiers in World War I, World War II and the Falklands Conflict (1982) on separate plaques. It was erected in November 1923.
