From this spot, high on Longstone Edge, you get an awe-inspiring view over this part of the Peak District. You can see right over the valley as far as Stanton in Peak on the opposite hillside, some 10 miles (16 km) away. The limestone ridge, which has been quarried extensively, stands at 1,296 feet (395 m).
