You can reach Kinder Low from many directions and the Pennine Way long-distance trail trundles straight past. There are trails and paths wandering off in various directions, and it’s easy to get swept up in a larger adventure, always wanting to see what’s over the next hill. The western extent of Edale is a good place to begin your ascent, otherwise, Hayfield to the west is just as good. You could also start in Birchen Clough car park, on the A57 to the north east, tramping your way across Kinder Scout’s bulk to reach Kinder Low.
At the summit, there’s a trig point and a jumble of boulders, offering great picnic spots should you be feeling peckish.
