This is the peak Snowdon keeps at arm’s length. Yr Aran benefits as a result, its isolated position giving the pointed satellite an impactful presence beyond its parent’s popular South Ridge. Not wishing to expend additional effort, the unknowing masses invariably pass it by, missing out on the spectacular and entirely unique view of Snowdon from its summit.

Hiking

Had an excellent little outing on Yr Aran to finish my list of all the Welsh Nuttalls and Marilyns. A super walk in from Rhyd Ddu and a steep pull up Aran's nose to finish off. A hidden little gem on Snowdon's southern flank. Unfortunately it was a cloudy summit moment but a great little morning out.
